A Beacon for Many
6 x 12 inches
Oil on Wood

Original

I was on the streets of Old Town in Albuquerque, NM when I looked up and saw the sight of one of the steeples of this very old church with the beam of light on it.
In the early days of the settlement of Albuquerque, around 1706, a church was constructed in the area. It was called San Francisco Xavier. In 1792 floods from monsoonal rains damaged the roof and eroded the structure causing it to collapse. The following year construction began on a new church. This one would be called San Felipe de Neri.
This is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted, no frame needed.
